Piermayr back with the Rapids after whirlwind trip home

Defender set for Toronto FC fixture after finalizing paperwork in Vienna

Having spent the last week in his home country, Colorado’s newest signing Thomas Piermayr rejoined the team last night in Toronto to prepare for Saturday’s game.

Following Colorado’s come-from-behind victory in Vancouver last Saturday, Piermayr split from the team to visit the United States’ embassy in the Austrian capital to finalize paperwork for his move to the U.S.

"I got back Monday, and Tuesday I did my visa," explained Piermayr. "And then got my passport back on Wednesday. It was a short time there but it was nice, and I'm glad to have done all this.

"It's good to be back, and great that I can be available to play the game this weekend."

The Rapids face Toronto FC on Saturday at 2 p.m. MT (4 ET) at BMO Field. Colorado are 2-1-1 (W-L-T) after last weekend’s 2-1 victory, powered by two spectacular goals from José Mari, the first of which was named MLS’ AT&T Goal of the Week.

After facing TFC tomorrow, the Rapids return home to take on the San Jose Earthquakes at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on April 19, with tickets still available by calling 303-825-GOAL or clicking here.
