Matchday welcome: Rapids host Montreal Impact

President Hinchey welcomes fans to Dick's Sporting Goods Park for match at 7 p.m.

Rapids fans,

Welcome to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for today’s match against the Montreal Impact. Our short history against Montreal has proven to be a goal-heavy one with exciting 4-3 and 3-2 victories in our only two meetings against the Canadian side. As we expect one of our biggest crowds of the season thus far, I’m excited for the atmosphere tonight at the stadium and am glad you could join us.

Recently, we’ve been excited to continue informing our fans about our new partnership with Ciao Telecom, whose logo you’ll see on the front of our jerseys. Any fans that switch to Ciao Mobile and refer friends to switch as well will receive two free tickets to a Rapids home game in the month of August and an Authentic Jersey. The more friends you refer, the greater the rewards - all the way up to 2015 season tickets or a night in the Summit Club. Visit the concourse booth at section 127 or www.ciaorapids.com for more information.

Earlier this week, Rapids forwards Deshorn Brown and Gaby Torres were called up to their national teams for upcoming friendlies. Jamaica faces Serbia, Switzerland and Egypt in the coming weeks, and Deshorn will join the Reggae Boyz in New Jersey on Sunday morning. Torres and Panama will also face Serbia, followed by this year’s World Cup hosts Brazil. This will be a great experience for both players and we’re proud of their accomplishments.

With the World Cup on the horizon, we’ve been hard at work to plan the World Soccer Celebration presented by Western Union, a free event which will take place at Skyline Park in downtown Denver from June 13-16, starting at 9 a.m. Visit www.coloradorapids.com/worldsoccercelebration for all the details.

Our last match against rivals Real Salt Lake was a tough one, but the second half performance was a good indication of the spirit we have in this group of players. A special thanks to the 103 Centennial 38 fans that made it to Rio Tinto Stadium thanks to buses provided by Ciao. Today’s match kicks off a string of three consecutive games here at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park and we’re excited to make this a true soccer fortress to support the team. Thanks for joining me and our entire staff here today, and we’re looking forward to this summer of soccer.

As always, if there is anything we can do to help improve your experience here at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, please speak with our Customer Service staff, or get in touch with me directly on Twitter, @tkhinchey3.

Enjoy the game, and come on you Rapids!
