On Wednesday night, the Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities hosted the annual World Cup of Wine and Beer at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, which set records for attendance and fundraising in its seventh year.

“The World Cup of Wine and Beer has grown dramatically since inception to truly be the Signature Fundraising Event of the Colorado Rapids," said Deb Dowling, Vice President of Community Relations and Fan Development for Kroenke Sports & Entertainment. "With the support of our restaurant, entertainment and libations partners and attendance by our fans and sponsors, proceeds from WCWB help Kroenke Sports Charities provide much needed programs and services for thousands of children and families in Colorado.”

Alongside all of the Rapids players and coaching staff, more than 400 fans attended the event, tasting food and beverage selections from all over Colorado and the world. Food and libations were provided by local Colorado organizations, including Rapids sponsors Anheuser-Busch, Marley Coffee, Odell Brewing Company, Vermont Hard Cider, Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que, and Marco’s Pizza. The Colorado Symphony provided musical entertainment while guests played casino games made possible by Casino Party USA.

More than 25 organizations donated prizes for the mystery cork contest, and the Rapids Sidekicks contributed an “Off the Pitch” basket comprised of favorite items from their significant others for the silent auction.

A record-setting $20,000 was raised through tickets sales, donations and the silent auction, and all proceeds will benefit education, health and fitness programs in Colorado supported by Kroenke Sports Charities. The Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports Charities would like to thank everyone who participated in this event.
