Nov. 8-11 Scouting: Technical staff attend five NCAA Conference Tournaments Pareja, Bravo, Dir, Cabrera, Caffrey at ACC, Big Ten, Big East, Conf USA, and Mountain Pacific championships
Nov. 15-17 SCOUTING: Assistant Coach Dave Dir attends NCAA tourney games  
Nov. 16 WAIVE: Club parts ways with eight players Zapata and Edu eligible for Waiver Draft; Casey, Marshall, Joyce, Palguta, Nane, Wahl will have options declined / not offered new contracts
Nov. 19 MLS deadline for clubs to inform players if options would be picked up  
Nov. 19 MLS Waiver Draft for non-MLS Cup finalists Rapids do not select any players; Zapata and Edu are not claimed
Nov. 20 Tryout Combine applications form launched Tryouts to take place Jan. 6-8
Nov. 26-Dec. 3 Stew Ceus training with Sunderland in England Informal training / observation with Premier League Club

Dec. 1 MLS Cup 2012 LA Galaxy vs Houston Dynamo
Dec. 3-12 Andre Akpan, Tony Cascio, Chris Klute, and Martin Rivero train with Derby Country  
Dec. 3-6 Roster-freeze lifted until 5:30 pm on Dec. 6 Teams may sign players and / or execute trades.
Dec. 3 Players eligible for Stage 1 of re-entry draft unveiled: Casey, Smith, Wynne, Joyce, Palguta, Marshall, Nane, Wahl, Freeman Players eligible for re-entry do not necessarily need to enter the draft. They can negotiate new contracts with their current clubs and avoid being selected by another team (see Dec 6).
Dec. 3 TRADE: Team acquires Atiba Harris from Vancouver Send international slot to Vancouver for the 2015 and 2016 seasons.
Dec. 4 Cascio scores for Derby in friendly vs Notts County; All four players start, play 60 minutes
Dec. 5 Tickets on sale for Desert Friendlies preseason games in Tucson, AZ in Jan-Feb  
Dec. 5-13 SCOUTING: Paul Bravo and Oscar Pareja in England In addition to scouting active players, will meet with technical staff at Derby County and Arsenal FC
Dec. 6 Blackout period where teams may no longer trade/re-sign their own re-entry eligible players begins. Players that enter draft unveiled @ 5:30 MT. Players eligible for Re-Entry process must inform MLS if they will enter Re-Entry Draft or rights will remain with current club.

Stage 1 of MLS Re-Entry Draft- 1 pm MT

Reverse order of 2012 finish, including playoff exit; Players selected will retain option contract;  2011 MLS Re-Entry Rules
Dec. 7-13 Expected trade-blackout period to be lifted Teams may engage in transactions and negotiate with their own players that were not selected in Stage 1
Dec. 10 Rapids announce preseason match with Chivas USA in Las Vegas on Feb. 15 Tickets on sale
Dec. 13 Blackout period where teams may no longer trade/re-sign their own re-entry eligible players. Time TBD Players eligible for Re-Entry process must inform MLS if they will enter Re-Entry Draft or rights will remain with current club.
Dec. 14 DRAFT: Stage 2 of MLS Re-Entry Process: Rapids selected Eric Avila from Toronto; Conor Casey picked by Philadelphia and Hunter Freeman by New England. Same order of selection as Stage 1; Teams that selected player must offer bona fide contract within seven days.
Dec. 14 TRADE: Team acquires LA Galaxy forward Edson Buddle in exchange for allocation money and a supplemental Draft pick Trade window opened after Re-Entry Draft.
Dec. 18 MLS Announced the 2013 Season Openers for each team Colorado to open on March 2 at FC Dallas, host Philadelphia on March 9, and play at Real Salt Lake on March 16.
Dec. 23 TRADE: Team acquires allocation money and Nathan Sturgis from Houston in exchange for Omar Cummings  
Jan. 3 SIGN: Team signs Ecuadorian National Team defender Diego Calderon  
Jan. 4 SIGN: Team re-signs gk Stew Ceus  
Jan. 6-8 Rapids Invite-Only Tryout Combine at Foothills Arena in Lakewood Applications closed Dec. 19.
Jan. 8 SIGN: Team re-signs def Marvell Wynne  
Jan. 9 SCHEDULE: 2013 schedule released  
Jan. 11-15 MLS Combine in Florida At Central Broward Regional Park in Fort Lauderdale, Fla
Jan. 16 TRADE: Acquire allocation money, int'l slot, and #11 pick from Chicago in exchange for Larentowicz.  
   
Jan. 17 MLS SuperDraft in Indianapolis, IN The Rapids have three picks - all in the top 30.
   
Jan. 17 PRESEASON: Players report for entrance physicals and tests First day on field expected to be Jan. 21
Jan. 22 MLS Supplemental Draft via Teleconference The Rapid have four picks in the four rounds.
