  • He started four games in a row leading into the CONCACAF Gold Cup break, which was one more start than he made in his injury-hit 2016.
  • During this run in the side he also recorded an assist in the 3-1 win over Houston Dynamo (7/1). This was his first assist in MLS since August 26, 2015, and a 2-1 win over the Dynamo.
  • His best run in the side came during June and July, when he started six games in a row, after which he started only three of the last 14.

2016

  • Managed only nine appearances (three starts) in 2016 in the league, before his season was ended during a Lamar Hunt US Open Cup game at FC Dallas on June 29. He sustained a torn ACL and torn lateral meniscus in his right knee.
  • His last MLS appearance of 2016 was as an 85th minute substitute in the 2-1 home win over Chicago Fire on June 18.
  • Although six of his nine appearances were as a sub, it was from the bench that Serna bagged his only goal of 2016; the game-winner in a hard-fought 1-0 home victory over Sporting Kansas City on May 11.

2015

  • Homegrown player Dillon Serna scored one of the goals of the season, in the 4-0 win at FC Dallas (4/10), but his time on the field was limited to just eight starts and 15 appearances, compared to 18 starts and 27 appearances in 2014.
  • He was joint-third top scorer, with Dillon Powers, netting three goals and also chipping in with one assist, in a year which saw him spend time with the USA’s senior side at their January training camp, feature for the U23s on Olympic qualifying and make a second successive appearance - this time on home soil - in the Chipotle Homegrown Game.

  • Established himself as a sometimes starter for the Rapids (18 starts), while setting a personal record of 27 appearances in just his second year with the team.
  • Scored three goals and contributed four assists.

  • Created club history in scoring his first professional goal in the loss at Seattle on April 26, 2014, as it was the first scored by a Rapids Homegrown Player.
