Rapids head coach Gary Smith's post-game comments after 1-0 loss to the LA Galaxy on May 5, 2010:
"I thought they were the better team in the first half. I thought they mounted some good pressure in the first 20 minutes; they started like the confident team I’m sure they are. But to concede from a dead ball again was a disappointment.
But, I thought we had some absolutely fabulous opportunities in the first half: Omar’s (Cummings) one-v-one; Conor’s (Casey), and I’m sure you can tell me a couple others. There were some great chances.
I think Omar’s, on that opening exchange, where they’re on top, there’s no doubt about that – to score then sticks a little bit of a pin in that and gives us a big lift.
Then to come out in the second half and dominate the way we did, was, I thought, a lot of character from the group.
I thought we showed the sort of quality and possession that we’ve done over the last two weeks. The big difference from this week to last is that we created some very good chances.
There were a multitude of chances that unfortunately today we couldn’t force home. And in a game were goals kind of make a big difference, their one has gotten them three points."
