Keith: "Not a problem I'm glad to answer any questions you've got!"Rapids.com: Is the Rapids stadium construction on schedule? Keith:"Yes we are definitely on schedule. Currently we are working on the bleacher concrete the structural steel for the north building structure the mechanical electrical and plumbing underground work and placing slab on grade for the west and east buildings."Rapids.com: Has any of the cold weather we saw earlier in the month affected the construction schedule? Keith: "Not much thus far the weather has been very favorable overall and we have been lucky. We are actually ahead of schedule on the concrete work because of the nice weather that we've seen for the majority of this winter so far."Rapids.com: What has been the biggest challenge of the project for you? Keith: "Well to be really honest there hasn’t been one! It’s a fun and exciting project that was very well-planned and we've had the advantage that strong local sub-contractors were selected. Thus far in my career it’s the best overall group I have had to deal with. In fact because of the planning preparation and great sub-contractors we have we hope to finish the project early."Rapids.com: What is the safety record on the project thus far? Keith: "Turner began working on the project on October 24 of last year and we are flawless to date. That means 20000+ man hours have been worked without a recordable or non-recordable incident. It’s fantastic. We have a very safety-conscious group out here that is maintaining a clean and safe environment for all and best of all everyone is paying attention!"Rapids.com: What would you say is the best part of your job? Keith: "I would have to say that it’s the interaction with the people on the project as well as the developing friendships."Rapids.com: What is your personal favorite part of the Rapids stadium design? Keith: "Without a doubt the tectonic plate roof design. It’s a fantastic signature piece that will set the Rapids stadium apart from all the other new soccer-specific stadiums in the league." Rapids.com: As a soccer fan yourself what do you think the stadium means to the city and the soccer fans of Colorado?Keith: "This stadium is going to grab the interest of so many people simply because it’s going to be a fantastic facility to visit. Not just the stadium itself but the entire complex is going to be a great place to visit. The stadium will be home to the die-hard fans but it will also create new fans for the Colorado Rapids. And especially for the team it will finally be a place to call home."For all the latest news on the new Rapids stadium and Prairie Gateway complex including press releases and photos visit the Rapids Stadium webpage by CLICKING HERE.
