The MLS Disciplinary Committee first fined D.C. United midfielder Christian Gomez an additional $750 for spitting at Chicago Fire defender CJ Brown in Chicago’s 4-0 win on October 30 2005. Gomez’s fine was in addition to the automatic one game suspension and $250 fine for the red card he received in the 55th minute of the game. Gomez will serve the suspension in the first game of the 2006 MLS regular season.
The Disciplinary Committee today also fined United midfielder Freddy Adu $500 for the reckless nature of a foul he committed in the 80th minute of the same game against Chicago’s Logan Pause. Adu was cautioned on the play.
Finally Colorado Rapids forward Jovan Kirovski was fined $250 for public criticism in a story that ran in the Rocky Mountain News on November 3 2005 ("Kirovski Elated to Host Galaxy").
