COMMERCE CITY CO (ColoradoRapids.com) – With the playoffs looming your Colorado Rapids are preparing to travel north of the border this Saturday to battle Toronto FC in the second game of their current home-and-away series.
It's the second and final encounter between these 2 clubs in the 2009 regular season this Saturday. In their first and only other match-up so far this year your Rapids defeated TFC 1-0 last Saturday night off a brilliantly struck gamewinner by striker Conor Casey (match recap).
Kickoff is set for 2:00pm MT this Saturday September 12th at BMO Field.
Colorado travel to Canada for the first time in 2009 holding down third place in the Western Conference with a record of 10-7-6 for 36 points.
Toronto are sitting in 5th place in the East with a record of 8-9-7 for 31 points.
Your Rapids will look to improve upon their all-time record vs. Toronto as they are 2-3-0 vs. the 2007 MLS expansion club and have never won when playing in Canada.
Toronto will be without the services of players Adrian Serioux and Amado Sanyang both of whom received red cards in the match vs. Colorado last Saturday.
Saturday's match will be televised in Colorado on both Universal Sports and the MLS Direct Kick package. Universal Sports is available on NBC Affiliate KUSA-TV over the air on channel 9.3 and on Comcast channel 250 in Denver and the surrounding areas.
