COMMERCE CITY CO (ColoradoRapids.com) – Your Colorado Rapids prepare to kick off their second straight home-and-home series as they travel to San Jose to face off against the Earthquakes in the first match this Friday night on national television with the return match set for next Wednesday at Dick's Sporting Goods Park.
Friday's match will be the first encounter of the year between these two clubs.
Kickoff is set for 9:00pm MT this Friday September 18th at Buck Shaw Stadium.
Colorado travel to San Jose for the first time in 2009 holding down fourth place in the Western Conference with a record of 10-8-6 for 36 points. The Rapids trail the West-leading Houston Dynamo by only four points with six games remaining in their regular season schedule.
San Jose are sitting in last place in the West with a record of 5-12-5 for 20 points.
Colorado strikers Conor Casey and Omar Cummings the league’s highest scoring duo each added to their league-leading totals on Saturday with Casey extending his lead in the Budweiser MLS Golden Boot race by registering his 13th goal of the season and Cummings adding to his league-leading assists total with 12 on the year.
Friday's match will be televised nationally on ESPN2.
