Six Colorado Kids Crowned Colorado Rapids Dribble Pass & Score Team Champions

Denver CO - Six children won the Colorado Rapids Team Championship competition last Saturday October 2nd in the state championship of the Sierra Mist MLS Dribble Pass & Score program.

The event was held at INVESCO Field at Mile High prior to the Colorado Rapids vs. San Jose Earthquakes match.

Twenty-four competitors had earned the right to compete in the Team Championship competition after capturing top honors at the Local and Sectional levels of the DPS competition which began in Colorado in January.

Once all 10 MLS Team Championships have been completed and scores computed the top four scorers in each age division from across the USA will qualify for the National Finals to be held in November at MLS Cup 2004 at the Home Depot Center in Carson CA.

The Sierra Mist MLS Dribble Pass & Score program is a three-skill competition that includes dribbling through a slalom-style course of flags for speed passing to zones for accuracy and shooting at a regulation size target goal for accuracy. The competition is divided into six separate boys and girls divisions.

The following are the first-place winners of the Colorado Rapids DPS Team Championship:


8/9 Boys: Blake Dickerson Lonetree

8/9 Girls: Emily Gibbons Lakewood

10/11 Boys: Cody Brown Highlands Ranch

10/11 Girls: Manon Williams Denver

12/14 Boys: Cody Schmeling Hudson

12/14 Girls: Gabby Gonzales Centennial
