The pair have been allowed to miss the tour later this month after a long hard season at Old Trafford.
United boss Sir Alex Ferguson has called on the pair to be left out of the trip to the states for the two games against the United States and Colombia.
Ferguson along with a number of other Premiership managers has voiced his opposition for the tour coming at the end of the season.
They join Chelsea captain John Terry and Frank Lampard in pulling out of the squad with both players requiring surgery on minor injuries.
It is also believed Liverpool duo Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher could miss out due to their involvement in the Champions League.
England boss Sven Goran Eriksson is thought to be ready to call up Southampton striker Peter Crouch and Tottenham midfielder Michael Carrick into the squad.
Carrick has enjoyed a fine season at Tottenham after arriving from West Ham and Southampton boss Harry Redknapp has been championing Crouch for an England call-up following his goalscoring exploits this term.
