The Colorado Rapids joined forces with MLS W.O.R.K.S. and Kroenke Sports Charities once again to provide for those in need in the Denver area.
On June 15, they unveiled a refurbished computer lab at Mount Saint Vincent Home, a residential home for abused, neglected or mentally ill girls and boys mostly ages 5-12 that helps strengthen their ability to emotionally and socially participate in their communities. The lab included new computers, learning programs and Rapids branded merchandise – including a framed team autographed jersey and a mural consisting of images from the Rapids 2010 championship season.
Following the dedication ceremony, Rapids players Kosuke Kimura, Marvell Wynne, Wells Thompson, Brian Mullan and Mike Holody, coaches Steve Guppy and Brett Jacobs, as well as mascot Edson the Eagle played with the kids in the new computer lab and later ran a soccer clinic outside with soccer equipment that was donated by the Rapids, KSC and MLS W.O.R.K.S.
