COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, May 18, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids announced on Thursday that the club has re-signed forward Omar Cummings, a member of the Jamaican National Team in his sixth season with the Rapids, to a multi-year contract. Per league and team policy, terms of the contract were not disclosed.
“Omar is one of the longest-serving members of our team, and has been a positive presence both on and off the field for years,” said Technical Director Paul Bravo. “His talent, speed and work rate have made him an All-Star and an MLS Cup winner, and we’re pleased to extend his contract.”

He has a total of 36 goals and 26 assists, and has started every playoff match for the Rapids since joining the club. He led the team with 14 goals in 2010 en route to the MLS Cup, and was named an MLS All-Star in 2011. With the Jamaican National Team, Cummings has made 28 appearances and scored eight goals since his debut in June 2008.
