Welcome to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for the last Rapids match of the season. Tonight, the team is taking on the Houston Dynamo on Fan Appreciation Night, and we’re excited you made it out to the stadium. I’m extremely grateful for your support and loyalty throughout the season, and while it has been difficult at times and we’re bitterly disappointed not to be in the playoffs, we’re already looking toward a much improved 2013.
MORE: MATCH PREVIEW
Fan Appreciation Night will have many exciting things going on around the stadium to celebrate what you’ve given us this year. There will be prizes and giveaways throughout the match, as well as discounts of up to 70% off at the team store and Altitude Authentics kiosks. Also, some very lucky fans will be randomly selected from the crowd to win the “Jerseys off our Backs,” where they will be presented by a jersey from a Rapids player. Make sure you arrive in the stands early, since we’ll be drawing random seat locations to find participants!
We hope you’ll also stick around to help us congratulate and recognize our players with the 2012 team awards, where we’ll give out six honors to recognize players for their efforts on and off the field. Three of the awards (Most Valuable Player, Defender of the Year and Young Player of the Year) were decided by a vote of Rapids players and assistant coaches, while the Golden Boot will go to the team’s leading scorer. The Rapids’ Humanitarian of the Year was chosen by our Community Relations staff and Kroenke Sports Charities, while you all helped select our Fan Favorite Award in an online vote earlier this week.
It’s bittersweet to be writing my last welcome letter of the season, but I want to thank you again for your dedication to the club. We’re all looking forward to seeing you next year. If you don’t have your 2013 season tickets yet, make sure to stop by the box office or give us a call at 303-825-GOAL to lock in your seats.
Come on you Rapids!
