Colorado Rapids midfielder Nick LaBrocca doesn't hold hard feelings against his former club Chivas USA, which the Rapids face on Saturday at The Home Depot Center (8:30 p.m. MT, Altitude2).
"It's just another game," LaBrocca said of the weekend match. "It's a familiar surrounding and some familiar faces."
LaBrocca was one of a number of players jettisoned from the LA-based club during the offseason after the change in coaches from Robin Fraser to Jose Luis Sanchez Sola, commonly referred to by his nickname, 'El Chelis.' The Rapids re-acquired LaBrocca in exchange for the rights to Eric Avila, whom the Rapids had selected in the re-entry draft but not signed.
The former MLS All-Star has started the past two matches for the Rapids, helping the club to a 2-2 draw against Portland and the team's first win of the season on Saturday against Real Salt Lake.
"I think the team played well in both games," LaBrocca said. "We were a little unfortunate against Portland not to get a win, especially going up 2-0. But still the performance in both games were very good for the team."
LaBrocca, who assisted on the game-winning goal agaisnt RSL (WATCH), sat out a portion of Wednesday's training on the turf at the Sports Dome (groin) but said he'd be ready for the weekend.
In his MLS career, LaBrocca is 3-3-0 against Chivas USA. The last time he faced the Goats was as a member of Toronto FC in 2010 when the Reds won 2-1. The last time he faced Chivas with the Rapids was in 2009, with Colorado winning 4-0.
