On Sunday, the Colorado Rapids U-16s earned a 1-1 draw with a late tying goal against Texas Rush at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. At the start of the game, the Rapids found it difficult to get a rhythm in the first half. Rush started the match with energy and were the first to capitalize. Before halftime, Colorado had a chance to equalize with a penalty kick but Nathan Braatan’s shot went wide right of the goal. The second half had a much different tone, though, and the Rapids were able to connect for a few chances. Their hard work finally came to fruition in the final minutes of the game when Kyle Ericson netted his first goal of the season to even the score and give the Rapids a point.
The Rapids, still undefeated with a 3-0-3 (W-L-T) record, next face Texans SC Houston on Friday, Oct. 25 and the Houston Dynamo on Oct. 27 at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
