Major League Soccer will hold the final two rounds of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft on Tuesday afternoon via conference call, and the Colorado Rapids have a pick in each of the third and fourth rounds. After selecting four players in the first part of the SuperDraft last Thursday in Philadelphia, the Rapids will pick 11th in each of the final two rounds.
Colorado’s picks in today’s second part of the MLS SuperDraft are both natural selections, given to the Rapids based on the team’s finish in the 2013 MLS season. The picks are 49th and 68th overall, with these late SuperDraft rounds having been called the Supplemental Draft in previous seasons. Last year, the Rapids selected one player late in the drafts who eventually made the roster: Brenton Griffiths, who was picked at number 63 overall.
The final two rounds of the 2014 MLS SuperDraft will take place over a conference call with all 19 MLS teams represented. Fans can learn the Rapids’ picks by following the club on Twiter: @ColoradoRapids.
