Dillon Powers was named MLS Rookie of the Year on November 25, becoming the first member of the Colorado Rapids to win the award. However after all the hoopla leading into the announcement, and the subsequent interviews, Powers didn't have much to show for his prize.
Major League Soccer shipped his trophy during the offseason, and after Wednesday's training we were on hand to watch the 22-year-old see and hold his hardware for the first time.
The trophy arrived in a large box from Tiffany & Co, and was well protected by multiple layers of bubble wrap, much to Dillon's delight.
Here's a short video posted to the Rapids Instagram account earlier today.
