Whether it’s on ColoradoRapids.com, or through Altitude’s programming, the goal is to provide content that you’re not able to get anywhere else. But there’s plenty of stuff that these outlets can’t get, and that’s where Rapids midfielder and 2013 MLS Rookie of the Year Dillon Powers stepped in. As he says:
“During my time the U.S. U-20s, videographers for the team got footage from practice and other times off the field for short video segments for fans to watch and get a feel about what happens with the players outside of the 90 minutes they see on the weekend.
"I was really intrigued by these videos and was interested in bringing them into my team when I was playing at Notre Dame. In my last three years at Notre Dame, I started to create similar videos, gathering as much footage as I could of the team and sharing small videos.
"It was something that I really enjoyed during my time at school. So at the end of last year I thought it would be fun to make a video of the Rapids on the road or during the week – just some of the behind-the-scenes shots that people outside of the organization would never get to see.
"Last week I was given a GoPro video camera to try out. I gathered footage leading up to our game against Vancouver and created this video. I look forward to creating more as the season goes on.”
All the footage was shot by Dillon Powers himself, so enjoy this exclusive look at the Rapids’ preparations for Vancouver!
