Soaring temperatures, sunny skies and expectant crowds greeted the first day of the World Soccer Celebration presented by Western Union, being staged at Skyline Park in downtown Denver.
Day two of soccer action from Brazil produced the shock result thus far, with a performance from the Netherlands which may be tough to beat. They came from a goal down to trounce defending champions Spain by five goals to one.
The Colorado Rapids are delighted to stage the World Soccer Celebration, thanks to wonderful support offered by Western Union.
"We are the most global of all companies," said Laston Charriez, Western Union Senior Vice President, Americas Marketing. "We're in 202 countries. Soccer, and the World Soccer Celebration that we're doing, is all about that, the unity and being able to be everywhere, and that is what Western Union is and where consumers are."
