MLS Regular Season
After a week away from competition, the Colorado Rapids departed for Washington D.C. Monday morning ahead of Wednesday's match at DC United (5:30 pm MT, Altitude TV).
"Obviously D.C.'s always a tough place to go and get points," Drew Moor said before leaving. "They have a very good history and tradition there at RFK."
Commerce City, Colo. - Pablo Mastroeni today took the first steps to returning to the field. The team's veteran leader, who has been out with headaches and other related symptoms since March 20, was back at Dick's Sporting Goods Park Monday morning jogging as part of the first step of MLS's concussion protocol.
Blackout rules may apply.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Colorado Rapids captain Pablo Mastroeni, initially out for six weeks with concussion-like symptoms, doesn’t appear to be close to coming back for the team, and no timetable has been set for the 35-year-old’s return.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — New Colorado Rapids striker Kamani Hill spent the first five years of his professional soccer career touring more European countries than most American study abroad students see with a Europass.
From Germany to Portugal to Norway, Hill tried to work his way into a regular role with a team. But with all the different stops on the continent, he struggled to find somewhere to play consistently.
Commerce City, Colo. - The 2012 regular season is not quite a third of the way through. But since the Rapids have played an even 10 of 34 matches, we're taking an informal poll from fans to see who you think has been the best performer so far. First some notes:
Commerce City, Colo. - Martin Rivero still had a smile on his face as he walked off the training field Wednesday morning. After setting up three goals in his first five games, Rivero scored his first MLS goal in the Rapids' 2-0 win over Dallas last Sunday .
"The important thing is that we won," Rivero said. "But obviously I'm very happy with scoring my first goal in MLS."
Commerce City, Colo - The Colorado Rapids could be playing their next three games without the services of defender Marvell Wynne and forward Omar Cummings.
Head Athletic Trainer Jaime Rojas confirmed to ColoradoRapids.com today that Wynne suffered a strained right hamstring during the team's training session in Foxboro on Tuesday, May 1 and is expected to be out approximately four weeks. After starting each of the first eight matches at center back, Wynne missed last Wedneday's loss at New England and Sunday's win in Dallas.
Commerce City, Colo. - Standing captain and center back Drew Moor teased goalkeeper Matt Pickens after Sunday's 2-0 win at Dallas.
"Did you even have to make a save today," Moor said to Pickens after handing him the team-signed match ball for registering his 26th shutout with the Rapids, a new team record.
"From a personal stand point I think it's great," Pickens said of setting the club record. "But I've always said that it's a team thing. My name might go down but (the record) is a team thing."
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Monday, May 7, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids announced on Monday that forward Edu, who has experience in Spain’s La Liga and the UEFA Champions League, has received his ITC and P-1 work visa and is now eligible for selection. In a pair of other roster moves, the Rapids waived Josh Janniere and added Ross LaBauex to the Disabled List.
