Abookire enters his sixth season with the Rapids as the team massage therapist. After completing his undergraduate degree at Denison University in Granville, Ohio, Abookire worked at Accelerated Sports Rehabilitation as a physical therapy assistant . He graduated with honors from the Boulder College of Massage Therapy, specializing in Injury Rehabilitation/Prevention, Sports Massage and Therapeutic Neuromuscular massage.

Abookire has been utilized by the Colorado Ballet and Boulder Theater to treat injured dancers and performers. He has worked with a number of Broadway performers from “Cats”, “Kiss Me Kate” and “Beauty And The Beast” and has been contracted by Australian-based dance company “Burn the Floor” for the past two years. He currently works at the Whole Health Wellness Clinic in Boulder, where he specializes in sports and accident-related injuries.
