Assistant Athletic Trainer
Yoshi Mitsuyama joined the Colorado Rapids Soccer Club in April 2018 as an assistant athletic trainer, after spending four and half years at University Missouri Science & Technology as assistant athletic trainer/rehabilitation coordinator.
His responsibility is design and coordination of rehabilitation, reconditioning, and injury prevention programs for the Colorado Rapids' players. In May 2011, Yoshi earned Bachelor of Science degree in athletic training from University of Northern Colorado and received his Master of Science degree in Health and Human Performance from Fort Hays State University in December 2013 where he served as the graduate assistant athletic trainer for wrestling, track and field and cross country. In 2012, Yoshi served as the medical coordinator for the NCAA Division II Super Regional Four and Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference Wrestling Championships.
Mitsuyama is a native of Tokyo, Japan. He also completed a summer internship in 2011 with the Colorado Rapids and with Sporting Kansas City in 2014. Yoshi is Postural Restoration Trained (PRT) by Postural Restoration Institute® and certified in dry needling by Structure & Function.
