Colorado Rapids announced today that forward Conor Doyle has been loaned to Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC of the United Soccer League (USL). Per the Right of Recall incorporated in the loan agreement, Colorado Rapids retain the right to recall Doyle at any point during the MLS regular season, subject to MLS roster compliance guidelines.
“We believe this will be a great opportunity for Conor to get meaningful minutes which will put him in a great position should the coaching staff call on him down the stretch here in the second half of the season,” said Paul Bravo, VP of Soccer Ops & Technical Director.
This season, Doyle has appeared in three games for the Rapids, registering one shot in the 1-0 win over Toronto FC on April 2.
Doyle, 24, was acquired from D.C. United on February 9, 2016 in exchange for a third-round pick in the 2017 MLS SuperDraft. The 6-foot-2 forward spent the last two-and-a-half seasons with D.C. United, playing in 56 matches and scoring four goals.
