Altitude to Kick Off Rapids Coverage on Sunday May 8th

DENVER (From Altitute.TV) – Altitude Sports & Entertainment (Altitude) today announced the network’s revised schedule for exclusive telecasts of 2005 Colorado Rapids Major League Soccer matches.

Altitude’s coverage of the Rapids will begin on Sunday May 8 when the Rapids take on the host Los Angeles Galaxy at 6 PM MT.

This Saturday’s Rapids game vs. the MetroStars at 7:00 p.m. at INVESCO Field at Mile High which was previously scheduled to be aired live on Altitude Sports & Entertainment (ALTITUDE) will not be televised by the Colorado network but the match will be available on the MLS Direct Kick package. Altitude will air the Rapids vs. Chicago match entitled "Marcelo Balboa Hall of Fame Night" instead on July 23rd at INVESCO Field.

Altitude will then present 12 more regular-season games of the Rapids throughout the season including contests against Western Conference rivals the Los Angeles Galaxy Club Deportivo Chivas USA and Real Salt Lake as well as the East's New England Revolution.

Altitude will also televise two Rapids games against the defending MLS Cup Champion San Jose Earthquakes. In all Altitude will present five home games and eight road contests. All telecasts will be on Saturdays with the exception of two Wednesday games and one Sunday contest.

Altitude will also televise select games in both English and Spanish via secondary audio programming (SAP). Mike Haynes will handle play-by-play duties for the English telecasts. He will be joined by Lionel Bienvenu and Marcelo Balboa as game analysts and Brandon Cruz and/or Norm Jones as sideline reporters. For the Spanish SAP telecasts Fernando Sergio will call the play-by-play ("comentarista") with Emilio Romero serving as analyst ("analista").
