Rapids Adult Soccer League Hosts Championship Matches

COMMERCE CITY CO (Friday October 24 2008) - There will be a playoff atmosphere in the air at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park on Saturday night. With your Rapids and Real Salt Lake going head-to-head for the final automatic postseason berth in the Western Conference and Rocky Mountain Cup trophy at 7:30pm the championship race doesn’t end there. Another crown will be determined on the pitch following the Rapids’ match.
The Colorado Rapids Adult Soccer League is nearing its conclusion and will hold their Championship Matches this weekend at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. The highly anticipated finale of the Men’s Open League will take place on the stadium pitch at 9:45pm following the Rapids’ match against RSL.
The remaining championship games will be held on Sunday with the Men’s Over 35 to play on the stadium pitch at noon and the Men’s Over 30 Division II to battle on the Rapids Training Field at 1:00 pm and then Division I at 2:30 pm.
The Colorado Rapids Adult Soccer League is professionally managed by the staff of the Colorado Rapids and plays on award-winning fields in a competitive exciting and safe soccer environment.

Sierra Vista vs. Pars FC - Saturday October 25 at 9:45pm Stadium Pitch (after the Rapids game)
Sierra Vista sport a 14-0-1 record since playing in the CRASL 7-0 in the Fall Division. They hope to continue the undefeated streak.
Pars FC – Finished the Spring 2008 Season in fourth place the summer 2008 in third and currently sits in the 2nd seed and anxiously awaits the highly anticipated rematch versus Sierra Vista.

Podiatry Associates vs. Brewer Veterans – Sunday October 26 at 12:00pm Stadium Pitch
Podiatry Associates currently hold a 12-1-2 record since playing in the CRASL they were the Champions of the Spring season defeating CCCP in the championship. Currently they hold an undefeated record in the Fall season.
Brewer Veterans finished in fourth place in the Spring and snuck themselves into the championship match with a victory against the Lightning FC. They currently hold a 3-1-3 record for the Fall.
Rover30 vs. Pars FC (over 30) – Sunday October 26 at 2:30pm Rapids Practice Field
Rover30 finished in fourth place in the Spring 2008 league finished as the champion in the Summer League and currently sports and undefeated record for the fall at 4-0-3.
The Pars FC (over 30) had an outstanding final push to leap frog in to the championship final by defeating the first seed 3-4 giving them the one extra point they needed.
These two teams last met on September 21 and the Rover30 team gained the slightest edge by defeating Pars 1-0 so expect an exciting final.
Allied Brewers vs. Rush Brokers – Sunday October 26 at 1:00pm Rapids Practice Field
Allied Brewers dominated the second division this Fall League sporting a 6-1 record with a goal differential of +17. They will face the Rush Brokers in a repeat final from the Spring 2008.

Rush Brokers hold a 5-2 record but seem to play their best in tough situations. Rush Brokers were a lower seed in the Finals in the Spring but walked away with the championship defeating Allied Brewers 3-1.
These sides met during this season on October 15 and Allied Brewers walked away with a 5-3 victory. The stage is set for a great Division II final.
