Rapids Host Chivas on El Grito This Sunday!

COMMERCE CITY CO ( - Your Colorado Rapids play host to Ante Razov Maykel Galindo and the rest of Chivas USA on El Grito Mexican Independence Day this Sunday Sept. 16. Kickoff is at 1:00pm at Dick's Sporting Goods Park this Sunday the Rapids' only home game during the month of September.
In the latest injury news the Rapids announced on Friday that Herculez Gomez has suffered a torn ACL and a torn lateral meniscus in training. He will undergo surgery to repair the ligament and meniscus next week. Gomez is facing a recovery time of 6-9 months and will be placed on season-ending injured reserve.
Sunday's match will be the second of three matches this year between these 2 clubs and will mark the Goats' only visit to Colorado this season. The Rapids will be looking to exact revenge upon Chivas whom they lost to 2-0 in their last meeting on June 16 2007 at the Home Depot Center.
Your Rapids are currently in the #4 spot in the West on 28 points while Chivas USA sit in 1st place in the West on 43 points. Colorado will be looking to secure a vital victory at home in order to jump up the table and into the 8th and final playoff spot.
