COMMERCE CITY CO (ColoradoRapids.com) - After having their four-game undefeated streak halted in Saturday's loss to Houston your Colorado Rapids travel to the Home Depot Center this Sunday to take on the LA Galaxy in an all-important match fraught with playoff implications.

Colorado gave the Galaxy a rude welcome to the season on Opening Day handing them a 4-0 defeat on national television on March 29. Now the Rapids will be looking to end LA's season in a similar fashion; since Salt Lake drew New York on Thursday night a win by the Rapids on the road in LA on Sunday would eliminate the Galaxy from playoff contention.
A win and three points on the road will also go a long way toward helping Colorado jump up the standings into the #3 spot in the West and helping solidify a potential playoff spot.
Kickoff will be at 6 p.m. MT this Sunday and the match will be broadcast in Colorado live on Altitude-2 (for a listing of Altitude-2 channels in your area click here).
Dedicated Rapids fans will be gathering for the Rapids Official Away-Game Viewing Party for this match at The British Bulldog! For more information see the details at the bottom of this page. The viewing party is free and open to fans of all ages to attend so wear your burgundy and come join other fans to watch the game live in a great soccer atmosphere on Sunday!
This will be the 50th all-time regular season meeting between Colorado and LA and their third this year with the two teams having drawn the 2008 season series 1-1-0 to date. The Rapids took the season opener with a powerful 4-0 win over LA on Opening Day at Dick's Sporting Goods Park and the Galaxy evened up the series with a 3-2 win on June 7 at the Home Depot Center.
The two sides also faced off in a play-in match for the 2008 Lamar Hunt US Open Cup with Colorado emerging the victors 1-0 on May 27 in Los Angeles.
Colorado (10-13-4 34 points fourth in the West) currently occupy a wild card playoff spot while Los Angeles (7-12-8 39 points sixth in the West) currently stand in last place in the conference and are not in playoff position although they have not been eliminated from contention.
The Rapids are 19-25-5 all time vs. Los Angeles and are 4-18-2 when playing in California. Since 2005 the Rapids hold an 8-4-1 record vs. the Galaxy.
