COMMERCE CITY CO (June 16 2008) - In honor of this past weekend's Father's Day at the Rapids' next home game this coming Saturday June 21 the Colorado Rapids will invite fans to participate in the "My Dad Taught Me" viral video campaign and videotape some of their best experiences with their fathers!
From kicking around a soccer ball in the back yard to riding a bike to sneaking an extra helping of dessert to attending Rapids games with each other children learn so much from their dads.
During the Colorado Rapids vs. Houston Dynamo game this Saturday June 21 2008 at 7:30pm at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park fans will be able to share their favorite memories with their dads.
Sponsored by the Colorado Promoting Responsible Fatherhood Initiative and Comcast Spotlight the "My Dad Taught Me" tent will be located on the concourse atop section 126. Each participant – no matter their age - will be asked to tape a short memory of something their father has taught them.
Because each father/child relationship is so unique stories may range from learning soccer skills to reading to climbing a mountain. Ten of the vignettes taped on Saturday will then be selected to air on the Colorado Dads Web site at www.coloradodads.com.
Following the Rapids game on June 21 the "My Dad Taught Me" campaign will be traveling throughout Colorado looking for poignant and funny stories of fathers and their children.
