Ugo Ihemelu Called Up to US National Team Camp

COMMERCE CITY COLO. (From US Soccer Reports) - The U.S. Soccer Federation announced today that Colorado Rapids defender Ugo Ihemelu has been called into the U.S. Men's National Team Camp in Carson CA to replace Rapids defender Cory Gibbs who withdrew from the camp earlier this week.

Ihemelu is the second addition to the U.S. roster following the start of training camp joining San Jose defender Jason Hernandez as replacements for Clarence Goodson and Gibbs.
Ihemelu has one international appearance to his credit playing in the USA's 5-0 pasting of Norway on Jan. 29 2006 at The Home Depot Center.
He arrived in California Tuesday evening and will suit up for Wednesday morning's training session.
The group will prepare for the USA’s first match of 2009 a friendly against Sweden on Jan. 24 at The Home Depot Center.
The match will be broadcast live on Fox Soccer Channel and Galavision beginning at 6:30pm MT. Fans can also follow the game live via’s MatchTracker.
