Colorado Rapids players Conor Casey, Kosuke Kimura, and Wells Thompson last week participated in a Celebrity Waiter Dinner to help raise funds for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado. The players each served desserts at sponsor tables in which they wore aprons, which included their autographs and those of the other sports and entertainment celebrities. Guests were encouraged to bid on the aprons.
The mission of the Foundation is to grant the wishes of Colorado children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy.
The Celebrity Waiter Dinner raised close to $200,000 for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Colorado, which is enough to grant more than 35 wishes! One of the high - and fun - points in the evening was the apron auctions, which raised an all-time record high of over $29,000 on the aprons alone!
