COMMERCE CITY, Colo. (Friday, October 19, 2012) – The Colorado Rapids and GAGA Sports & Entertainment have partnered together to create a new fan engagement website called the Undercurrent, where Rapids fans can win prizes and get access to exclusive content. The site has launched at undercurrent.coloradorapids.com with the opening prize being a trip to MLS Cup 2012.
“This new version of the Undercurrent offers our fans the opportunity to engage with the team, and win great prizes, starting with this trip to MLS Cup,” said Rapids Chief Revenue Officer David Burke. “We will continue to expand the site and offer our fans extra content that isn’t available anywhere else, as well as chances to win more exciting prizes and giveaways.”
The trip to MLS Cup 2012 includes roundtrip airfare for two from Denver, a three night stay in a hotel and tickets to the match, and fans can enter the contest until Monday, November 12. Registration for the Undercurrent and the contest is free, and in addition to winning a trip to MLS Cup, fans can participate in Rapids trivia and a Pick ‘Em game to win autographed merchandise. The site will also allow registered fans to enter engaging campaigns, influencing their social networks to participate in exchange for an opportunity to win game tickets, exclusive Rapids experiences, signed memorabilia and more.
The Rapids visit Chivas USA this Saturday in California before returning to Commerce City for the final match of the 2012 season on Saturday, October 27 against the Houston Dynamo. The game takes place on Fan Appreciation Night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, with giveaways, prizes and discounts throughout the event. Buy tickets here.
