(Sunday, June 30, 2013) – On July 7, the Colorado Rapids, Entravision and Coca-Cola are teaming up to bring together all of Denver’s professional sports teams for Xportiva, an interactive community event at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park. Xportiva starts at 11 a.m. in the parking lots outside of Eighteen76 and runs until 7:30 p.m. when the Colorado Rapids take on D.C. United on Military Appreciation Night presented by Coca-Cola.

“Xportiva is a chance for our community to interact with all of Denver’s professional sports teams, and we’re proud to host the event at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park,” said Rapids President Tim Hinchey. “All of the local teams are deeply connected to Denver and the state of Colorado, and Xportiva is a fun, exciting way for people to get to know these organizations. We look forward to seeing fans both new and old at the event on Sunday.”

In addition to the Rapids, the Colorado Avalanche, Denver Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, Denver Broncos, and Colorado Rockies will participate in a series of interactive demonstrations that will highlight the various fundamental aspects of each sports. In addition, Xportiva will feature team mascots, cheerleaders and alumni present to meet with fans for autographs and pictures.

Xportiva is one of the many events taking place around Military Appreciation Night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, where the Rapids will honor members and families of the U.S. Armed Forces and present a donation the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the USO. The match kicks off at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 7 and will be followed by live entertainment from DJ Seebaum and the second fireworks show of the week.
