Military Appreciation Night

Rapids to host Military Appreciation Night presented by Swire Coca-Cola on August 8

On Saturday, August 8, the Colorado Rapids and Swire Coca-Cola will proudly celebrate Military Appreciation Night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park for the match against Columbus Crew SC. Among the special events throughout the day, a special “Military Appreciation Night” fireworks show presented by Coca-Cola will take place immediately at the conclusion of the game.

“Everyone at the Colorado Rapids and Kroenke Sports & Entertainment is looking forward to honoring the brave men and women who serve and protect our country during Military Appreciation Night,” said Rapids President Tim Hinchey. “It is one of the most memorable games of the year and we hope to make Saturday a very special night for the many members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families.”

Throughout the game, there will be several tributes to the U.S. Armed Forces, including representation of each military branch in the Honor Guard, a halftime enlistment ceremony, Heroes recognition, and a $10,000 donation to the United Service Organization (USO) on behalf of the Rapids and Swire Coca-Cola.

Prior to the match, fans can also visit Burgundy Boulevard behind Eighteen76 for a variety of Military Vehicles and Activities, including an obstacle course for kids and adults presented by Dasani. In addition, Burgundy Boulevard will have face painters, a DJ, as well as a Bud Burgundy Concert Series Live Performance by Air Force Academy Band, Wild Blue Country at 6:00 p.m. Several other special events will occur throughout the day.
