Experienced attacker Sébastien Le Toux joins Colorado Rapids

Colorado Rapids announced today the acquisition of attacker Sébastien Le Toux from Philadelphia Union in exchange for general allocation money.

“Sébastien’s track record in MLS speaks for itself,” said Paul Bravo, Technical Director and VP of Soccer Operations. “He is a proven goalscorer and creator. We look forward to welcoming him to Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.”

A hugely experienced player, boasting 56 goals and 55 assists in 236 appearances, Le Toux is now in his eighth season in MLS. He has spent time at Seattle Sounders FC, Vancouver Whitecaps FC, New York Red Bulls and, most recently, a second spell at Philadelphia Union.

The 32-year-old began his pro career at French club Lorient in 2004, before playing for the Sounders in USL, and then their first season in MLS in 2009. He has enjoyed three double-digit seasons for goals and holds numerous Union franchise records, including most goals, most assists, most game-winning goals and most game-winning assists. He also had a perfect PK record for Philadelphia with 13 out of 13.

Rapids continue their push for the Playoffs against Vancouver Whitecaps FC on Saturday night at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park, with kickoff scheduled for 7:00 p.m. MT (Altitude). For more information or to purchase tickets, call 303-825-GOAL.
