Kevin Doyle has been named to Ireland’s 37-man roster for the upcoming friendlies against Mexico at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey on Thursday, June 1 and Uruguay on Sunday, June 4 in Dublin. A week later, Ireland will host Austria in a 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier on Sunday, June 11 at Aviva Stadium.
After five matches, Ireland is currently tied with Serbia atop Group D with 11 points (3-0-2). The June 11 fixture will be the first of the second half of qualifiers, with Ireland coming out of Vienna with a crucial 1-0 road victory over the Austrians back in November.
This season, Doyle has appeared in eight contests for the Rapids, with seven of those coming from the start. The 33-year-old forward has tallied two goals in 623 minutes.
