Drew Moor's Legacy Isn't Finished - But His Best XI Spot is Already Undeniable

Drew Moor's Legacy Isn't Finished - But His Best XI Spot is Already Undeniable -

Drew Moor, the only current All-Time Best XI player on the Rapids, continues to boast a legacy of hard work and respect. While his Rapids resume is still growing, he has already done more than enough to earn him a spot as a defender in the best lineup in team history.

Moor is currently in second all-time for games played, games started and minutes played for the Rapids. He joined the team in 2009 and helped propel it to its MLS Cup victory in 2010, playing every minute of the postseason. The team also made the playoffs with Moor in 2011 and 2013. In 2015, he made his first MLS All-Star appearance in front of the home fans at DICK'S Sporting Goods Park. He also served as a captain during the 2013, 2014 and 2015 seasons.

In 2020, Moor rejoined Colorado and made an immediate impact. He started the first two matches of the 2020 season prior to the COVID-19 season suspension, playing every minute of both contests. In this year's home opener, he scored the game-winning goal in the 90th minute off of a corner kick, giving the team its second consecutive victory.

Moor is not only a Rapids legend, but he is also in the MLS history books. He is currently 5th in games played, games started and minutes played all-time over the course of his 17 seasons.

What isn’t shown by the numbers is Moor’s commitment to the state of Colorado and his undeniable leadership presence. When he rejoined the team, he only had great things to say.

“It’s a dream come true for me," said Moor after his signing announcement. "The Rapids were so good to me in my time there. The fans were amazing. The front office was amazing, and the coaches and teammates were so supportive and kind of helped me make a name for myself in this league... I can’t wait to get back home.

“My promise is that I’ll wake up every single morning and have a smile on my face and do absolutely everything I can, on and off the field, to help support the club and to help it be a successful club," Moor said.

This is who he is. Moor shows up with a smile on his face and strives to make his teammates better. And he does it because of his love for the state of Colorado, the fans and his teammates. Moor is synonymous with what this club strives to represent: respect, comradery and pride for Colorado.
