This season, the Rapids launched the first-ever commemorative match poster series, which gives local artists the opportunity to have their work featured and sold at Colorado Rapids matches, with proceeds benefitting Kroenke Sports Charities. Each game, a unique design specific to the matchup is chosen. And best of all, each game’s winning designer receives a prize!

About the artist

Jordan Rothrock is a 2010 graphic design graduate from McPherson College. After receiving his degree, he worked with several companies in their design departments, and has continued to do freelance work whenever possible.

In 2012, he made the move to Denver where he has found success designing for a wide variety of clients, including sporting events, local restaurants and Denver Public Schools. To view more of his work, check out his online portfolio by clicking HERE.

Inspiration for the design

“I wanted to do a combination of showing appreciation to not only Doyle for the time he has spent with the club, but also to the fans since it is Fan Appreciation Night,” Rothrock said. “I wanted to give a nod with the light background image to the many great and loyal fans of the Rapids. I thought it would be a nice touch to tie in the burgundy checkered pattern that you can see on match day on several of C38’s flags.”
