COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – The Colorado Rapids will host a free public street-party viewing event for the United States versus England 2010 FIFA World Cup match on Saturday, June 12.
The viewing party will take place directly outside the front door of the Rapids’ partner bar The British Bulldog. Stout Street between Broadway and 21st Streets in downtown Denver will be shut down and a 11 x 14 foot screen will be raised 15 feet in the air to show the game. Large speakers will also provide fans an unmatched viewing atmosphere.
Saturday’s game kicks off at 12:30 p.m. MT, but fans can arrive early for a special viewing of “The Game of Their Lives”, the movie that depicts the USA’s historic 1-0 win over England in the 1950 World Cup to ramp up anticipation for the match.
This public street party is just one of the events the Rapids are providing free of charge to Colorado’s soccer fans in celebration of the World Cup this June and July.
