(ColoradoRapids.com) - Rapids fans around Colorado might have noticed an increased presence in Rapids advertising around the Denver metro area recently!
If you have it's because the Colorado Rapids are currently in the midst of an advertising blitz to kick off the start of the 2007 season at Dick's Sporting Goods Park!
Here's a brief sampling of the Rapids' marketing efforts across the front range that are in full swing:
-Rapids banners featuring the club's players modeling the new kits and colors can be found hanging from street lightpoles all over the city along various busy roadways from everywhere from Speer Blvd. to Blake Street to Alameda Ave. to 6th Avenue.
-In addition to those street lightpole banners the club has also taken over the center of downtown as another complete double set of banners featuring Rapids players Kyle Beckerman and Pablo Mastroeni are entrenched in every planter down the 16th St. Mall in the heart of the city!
-Billboards are posted around the city featuring Rapids players and highlighting their countries of origin including Niko Hernandez Roberto Brown Pablo Mastroeni and Terry Cooke.
-The Rapids have also established a strong presence inside area suburban shopping malls and have illuminated posters up in such locations as the Cherry Creek Park Meadows and Flatirons malls.
-Radio spots promoting Opening Day and season ticket packages are currently in full rotation across all stations on the dial.
-Bus side advertisements featuring similiar messages to the billboards can be found on RTD busses all around town.
-Advertisements in newspaper publications from The Westword to The Onion to the Denver Post and Rocky Mountain News to the official youth soccer publication GoalPost Scripts to various Spanish-language papers and local neighborhood papers have all been placed.
-The Rapids have also taken over entire concourses at Denver International Airport with players such as Pablo Mastroeni Terry Cooke and Kyle Beckerman looming large over the thousands of passengers rushing through DIA every day!
