The Subaru Rocky Mountain Cup, the annual competition between the Colorado Rapids and Real Salt Lake, was created by the fans, is a competition between fans, and is managed by the fans. A group called the Committee of 10, or C10 for short, is made up of five Rapids fans and five RSL fans, and is tasked with overseeing the Subaru Rocky Mountain Cup and many of the fan events surrounding the games. As the competition enters its final match of the season, the C10 is doing a little extra to give back.
C10, with the help of Subaru, will be donating 50 tickets to Saturday night’s match to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado. These tickets will allow local kids and their mentors to attend the big game at Dick’s Sporting Goods Park.
“Everyone in the C10 is proud to include Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado as part of the Subaru Rocky Mountain Cup,” said Mark Bodmer, a member of C10. “We're excited to bring the beautiful game to kids in our community for them to enjoy.”
The mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Colorado is to help children reach their full potential through professionally supported, one-to-one, volunteer mentoring relationships with measurable impact. The organization provides youth (Littles) with an adult friendship that is consistent, ongoing, supportive, educational, safe and fun, supplies mentors (Bigs) with the resources and support they need to be effective mentors to at-risk youth; and enhances the ongoing relationship (Match) between a Big and a Little with intentional activities and asset-building opportunities.
