The Rapids don't start the new season until March 2 at FC Dallas, but the Centennial 38 Supporters Group will be kicking off a week in advance in Denver.
The new supporters group is hosting their Kickoff Party on Saturday, Feb. 23 at the Celtic Tavern in downtown Denver. While the event will be a fundraiser for the new group, all fans are invited to attend, including kids - who will receive a gift from Centennial 38, according to the groups board members.
Besides re-uniting with and meeting new Rapids fans, the party will also provide those in attendance with opportunities to win prizes, including a trip to a Rapids away match.
The event starts at 6 p.m. and will feature Rapids President Tim Hinchey as the guest speaker, a DJ, bagpipers, a silent auction, and an opportunity to sign up for the first FIFA 13 Xbox tournament.
Money raised at these fundraisers goes toward supporters functions, which include pre-game tailgates, TIFO, and all the other costs associated with supporters activities.
