Derek Landry

Strength & Conditioning Coach

Derek Landry joined the Colorado Rapids in 2022 as the Strength and Conditioning Coach for Rapids 2. As the Strength and Conditioning Coach, Derek will design and execute individualized training programs and provide fundamental nutritional periodization to all Rapids 2 players.

Before joining the Rapids, Derek served as the first team assistant fitness coach for D.C. United where he led all sport science initiatives and coordinated gym-based activities. Previous to his time with D.C. United, Derek worked with IMG Academy as a Strength & Conditioning Coach.

Derek holds his CSCS certification from the National Strength and Conditioning Association and his USA Weightlifting Level 1 certification. Derek graduated from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte in 2015 with a Bachelor of Science in finance and is currently working towards a Master of Science in strength and conditioning from St. Mary’s University in London.

Originally from Lawrenceville, Georgia, Derek currently resides in the Denver area with his wife Megaan. The couple recently had their first child, a baby boy.
