COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids Academy products Adam Beaudry and Keith Chavarria have been selected for the 2022 MLS Next All-Star Game presented by Allstate, the club announced on Wednesday. During the 2021-2022 season, Beaudry has appeared in 10 matches amassing a total of 900 minutes on the pitch for the Rapids U17 Academy team. The 15-year-old goalkeeper has also trained consistently with the Rapids 2 team and has made three appearances as a substitute for the squad during its inaugural 2022 campaign.

“We are thrilled to see Adam recognized by MLS NEXT with his selection to the MLS NEXT All-Star Game,” said Chris Cartlidge, Rapids Academy technical director. “Adam joined us from Real Colorado at the beginning of 2022. We identified Adam as a goalkeeper with excellent potential and we worked closely with the Real Colorado staff to bring Adam to the Academy on a timeline that best supported his development and his goal to play at the professional level. Adam has been competing with U17s this season and training consistently with Rapids 2. He is the model professional, bringing excellent commitment to his work and supporting the work of his teammates every day. Adam is a very good goalkeeper that is very strong in all aspects of the goalkeeping position. This, coupled with his incredible appetite to learn, sets Adam up for a bright future in the game.”

Chavarria joined the Colorado Rapids Academy as a U12 player from his former club Colorado Rush. The midfielder currently competes on the club’s U17 team and has appeared in 52 matches during the 2021-2022 season. In his 4,630 minutes on the pitch, Chavarria has been a key contributor to the team’s attack, adding four goals this season. In addition, Chavarria has spent a significant amount of time training with Rapids 2 and has made two appearances as a substitute for the inaugural MLS NEXT Pro team.

“We are excited to see Keith represent the Rapids Academy in the inaugural MLS NEXT All- Star Game,” said Cartlidge. “Keith has been a long-standing member of the Academy program. In his time with the program, he has exhibited the Academy values of hard work, discipline, humility and a winning mentality in each step of his journey. Keith has demonstrated excellence on and off the field and it is just that his work has been recognized and rewarded with this selection.”

The match will be streamed live and further tune-in details will be available at a later date. Admission to the MLS NEXT All-Star Game presented by Allstate at the National Sports Center is free of cost.
