Colorado Rapids Academy products Adam Beaudry and Tadeo Razo Sanchez called up to the U.S. Soccer U-17 Men’s Youth National Team Domestic Camp

COMMERCE CITY, Colo. - Colorado Rapids Academy products Adam Beaudry and Tadeo Razo have been called up to the U.S. Soccer U-17 Men’s Youth National Team Domestic Camp. Beaudry, U17 goalkeeper, and Razo, U17 defender, will both participate in the team camp on August 18-24, in Chula Vista, California, under head coach Gonzalo Segares.

Beaudry joined the Colorado Rapids Academy as a U16 player after spending a majority of his youth career with Real Colorado. During the 2021-2022 season, Beaudry has appeared in 10 matches amassing a total of 900 minutes on the pitch for the Rapids U17 Academy team. The 15-year-old goalkeeper has also trained consistently with the Rapids 2 team and made his professional debut on July 27, playing 45 minutes in the team’s match versus Premier League 2 side Wolves U-21.

“We are ecstatic to see Adam recognized by the U.S. Soccer Federation with his selection to the U-17 National Team camp,” said Chris Cartlidge, Rapids Academy Technical Director. “Adam joined us from Real Colorado at the beginning of 2022 and has been a goalkeeper who has exhibited excellent potential. Adam has been competing with the U17’s this season and training consistently with Rapids 2. His model professionalism and commitment to work coupled with his incredible appetite to learn sets Adam up for a bright future in the game.”

Sanchez joined the Colorado Rapids Academy as a U12 player from his former club the Colorado Amateur Soccer Association. The right back currently competes on the club’s U17 team as a U16 player and has appeared in 46 matches during the 2021-2022 season. In addition, Sanchez was notably selected to compete in this year’s MLS NEXT Cup Showcase game. Sanchez also spends significant time training with the Rapids 2 team in addition to his Academy training.

“We are thrilled to see Tadeo selected to the U-17 Men’s National Team Camp this August,” said Cartlidge. “Tadeo is a competitor that brings forth each day the focus, effort and humility required to maximize his development. Tadeo as a later developing player has had to push and compete each step of his journey. His work is being rewarded this year by earning the U17 starting right back position as U16 player. Tadeo has had an excellent 2021-2022 campaign and has been tracked by the staff of U.S. Soccer Federation for much of the year. It is great to see his work and performances recognized.”
