COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — The Colorado Rapids announced today that Rapids 2 defender Jabari De Coteau was named to Grenada’s Men’s National Team for the upcoming 2026 Concacaf Nations League qualifiers from September 21 to October 6. This marks De Coteau’s second call up for the senior national team and his first under Head Coach Stern John.
De Coteau and Grenada will start their slate of matches on September 25 against Cuba and on September 28 against St. Kitts and Nevis. The group will then travel to Trinidad & Tobago for two matches against Bonaire on October 2 and 5.
The 20-year-old is no stranger to the senior national team, with this being his second call up within the last year. De Coteau earned his first selection back in March of this year, where he eventually made his international debut in a friendly match against Rwanda on March 27.
The defender signed with Rapids 2 on January 26 after Colorado selected him with the 86th overall pick in the 2026 MLS SuperDraft. In 21 appearances with the club this season, the defender posted 17 starts and logged 1,615 minutes, the third most on the team. He also recorded his first professional and Rapids 2 assist in their 1-0 win over against Vancouver Whitecaps FC, helping the team secure their first win of the season. In August, De Coteau was loaned to Colorado Springs Switchbacks where he has made three appearances with one assist.
Before beginning his MLS NEXT Pro career, the New York native spent three seasons at Xavier University, where he made 37 appearances and 15 starts while totaling 1,677 minutes on the pitch. During his time with the Musketeers, the defender was part of the program’s historic 2023 campaign, helping Xavier capture its first BIG EAST Tournament Championship.
