COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Rapids Academy products Adam Beaudry and Zackory Campagnolo have been called up to the U.S. Men’s Youth National Team for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, U.S. Soccer announced today. Beaudry and Campagnolo will occupy two of the three goalkeeper roster spots on head coach Gonzalo Segares’ side.

“From the club's perspective, it's fantastic to have two goalkeepers going to the same World Cup,” said Chris Sharpe, Colorado Rapids Assistant and Goalkeeper Coach, Academy Goalkeeper Director. “We have an extremely strong group of talented young goalkeepers at the club and the future is bright in the goalkeeper department at the club.”

The pair of goalkeepers will travel to Bali to train with the U.S. from October 26 to November 7 before the group stage matches kick off in Jakarta, Indonesia, on Friday, November 10. As a part of Group E, the U.S. will play matches against Korea Republic (Nov. 12, 6 a.m. MT), Burkina Faso (Nov. 15, 3 a.m. MT) and France (Nov. 18, 6 a.m. MT) to determine the team’s fate for the Round of 16. All three matches will be played at the Jakarta International Stadium and shown on FOX Sports and Telemundo platforms.

The U.S. was one of four teams to qualify for the FIFA U-17 World Cup at February’s Concacaf U-17 Championship in Guatemala. Beaudry played a significant role in the team’s success, helping the U.S. to a spot in the final where they fell short to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. The young goalkeeper made three starts for the U-17s during the tournament and recorded two clean sheets and three wins for his side.

Beaudry most recently joined the U.S. U-17 team for training camp at the end of September in Sorocaba, Brazil, where the team continued its preparation for the World Cup. The U.S. played two matches against Brazil during the camp with Beaudry occupying a starting XI position in one of the two matches.

“Adam has been a prominent figure in the U.S. U-17 group for the past 18 months, through qualifying and now into the World Cup,” said Sharpe. “This is a much-deserved achievement for Adam and it will be fantastic for him to go and test himself against the best opposition in the world in his age group. They have a tough group stage ahead but if they can get a good result in their opening game against South Korea, I believe it will set them up well for the tournament.”

Beaudry recently completed his second year with the Rapids organization after a successful youth career with Real Colorado. He occupied a starting position on the club’s MLS NEXT Pro side, Colorado Rapids 2, during the 2023 season and helped the team to a spot in the Western Conference Final. His performances over the course of the 2023 season earned Beaudry a MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month award for both May and July, a Rising Star of Matchday award and a spot as a finalist for the 2023 MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Year. In addition, the 17-year-old keeper was named the Rapids Academy Player of the Year.

Campagnolo, 16, joined the Rapids Academy in August 2023 after spending three seasons with the Orlando City SC Academy. Campagnolo started his time with Orlando City’s U-15 side in 2020 before joining the U-17s at the beginning of the 2022-23 MLS NEXT season. During his time with Orlando City, the goalkeeper had the opportunity to spend time with Sporting Portugal in Lisbon, Portugal, in 2022 and Germany’s FC Schalke 04 in Gelsenjkkirchen, Germany, in 2023.

“Zack has been fantastic since joining the club, playing very well for our U-17 group in the opening part of the MLS NEXT season and every day in training for Rapids 2,” said Sharpe. “He was invited to travel to the Czech Republic with the U.S. U-17 group last month, performed well in the camp and has earned the right to be called into the squad for the World Cup as a 2007 player. It will prove an invaluable experience for him within his development. We are very excited for him.”

The Florida-born goalkeeper brings with him prior national team experience having earned call ups to both the U.S. U-15 and U-16 Men’s Youth National Teams. Campagnolo made his first official national team debut in 2022 at the Torneo Delle Nazioni in Italy, playing in three matches against Slovenia, Italy and Portugal. He also earned himself the Man of the Match honor for his performance against Italy during the tournament. Campagnolo made the jump to the U-16 team in November 2022, earning a call up for the Football Federations Cup in Spain where he made two appearances for the team in their matches against Spain and England. In September 2023, Campagnolo joined the U-17s for the first time in his national team career for the Vaclav Jezek Tournament in the Czech Republic as the team prepared for the upcoming World Cup.
