COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Rapids 2 goalkeeper Adam Beaudry has been named the MLS NEXT Pro Goalkeeper of the Month for May, the league announced today. The 17-year-old goalkeeper made his professional debut for Rapids 2 on April 30 in the match against North Texas SC and has since gone on to make four more appearances for the Rapids’ MLS NEXT Pro side.

“Adam has been playing beyond his years. He stepped in with big shoes to fill and has done so not only by making saves, but through his presence, composure and thought,” said Rapids 2 Head Coach Erik Bushey. “For a young player to help lead the way as he has is impressive. However, this is also what is expected of him. We are proud of Adam and see the experience he is gaining as another positive step towards him achieving his personal goals.”

Beaudry has been a standout among young goalkeepers in the league during the 2023 season. The Rapids Academy goalkeeper has started in five matches for Rapids 2 and leads the team with two consecutive clean sheets this season from the club’s matches against LA Galaxy II and Austin FC II.

In addition to his time with Rapids 2, Beaudry spent time with the U.S. U-17 Men’s Youth National Team during the Concacaf U-17 Championship in February. During his time at the continental tournament, Beaudry helped the U.S. reach the final before they fell to Mexico in a 3-1 loss. He made three starts for the youth national team during the tournament, recording two clean sheets and three wins.

Most recently, Beaudry joined the U.S. U-17 team in April for training camp as the squad continued its preparation for the 2023 FIFA U-17 World Cup, scheduled to take place from November 10 to December 2 in a yet-to-be-determined host nation. He was one of eight players to return to the team from the U-17 World Cup qualifying roster.
