Entering its second season in MLS NEXT Pro, Rapids 2 will play 28 regular season matches this year, 14 at home and 14 on the road, an increase from 24 matches per club in 2022. The 2023 season will feature 27 clubs, including seven new MLS affiliates. In the Western Conference, LAFC2 and LA Galaxy II have both join the Pacific Division, while Austin FC II has joined Rapids 2 in the Frontier Division.

Opened in 2009, the University of Denver Soccer Stadium features a 2,000-seat grandstand that sits above the 10,000-square-foot Pat Bowlen Strength and Conditioning Complex. The soccer stadium is most accessible from the west-facing parking lots—Lots C, 103 & 311(ADA)—which offer $10 parking and direct access to the stadium. Fan entry and ticket pickup is located at the top of the north staircase of the Ritchie Center. Restrooms and concessions can be found in the west concourse of the Ritchie Center, located on the north-facing side of the stadium.

Rapids 2 kicked off their 2023 season on March 26 with a 2-1 win over visiting Sporting KC II and have gone on to record a 4-0-0 record since, the only team in the league that is undefeated in its first four contests of the year.
